Together with HighTechXL and Sports & Technology, SportBizz piloted a special sports & vitality track in the startup program of hardware accelerator HighTechXL.
A group of 5 promising sport and vitality start-ups made it to the program after a severe selection. John van de Laar of SportBizz supported the teams along their way through the hyper intensive 3 month program.
‘Our start-ups rank in the top of the Fall 2016 cohort (14 start-up teams). They are fully committed, work hard and made incredible progress over the program’ John van de Laar says. The start-up that got the highest investment purse during XL-Day was Berkelbike. This amazing team make people with an incomplete spinal cord injury, exercise again. Then there were IPOS (equestrian), Ovao (swimming), Uscout4 (sport & media) and Otis insight (tracking). All did a great job.
The pilot was very successful and that is why Sports & Technology and SportBizz are looking into the possibility of staging a program that would accommodate both start-ups and corporates in the field of sport and vitality.
To be continued.
